Amy Carney was elected to the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board in November 2022 and is currently completing the final year of her term. She is running for a second term for stability in continuing to serve Scottsdale families with steady, experienced leadership focused on student success, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring our public schools are a top educational choice for our families.

Amy is a mom of six children, all educated in Scottsdale Unified, and a proven leader in the community. She is an author, freelance writer, and public speaker whose work centers on strengthening families and communities. She is also the creator of a line of keepsake products that benefit children in Arizona’s foster care system, reflecting her deep belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.

As both a parent and a board member, Amy brings a deeply personal perspective to the decisions that shape our public schools. Amy views her service on the Scottsdale Unified Governing Board as a natural extension of her lifelong advocacy for children and families. She is a strong champion for putting students first, supporting teachers, and ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. She is dedicated to maintaining high academic standards, fostering safe learning environments, and partnering with parents and educators to prepare students for success beyond graduation.
