REIGNING GRACE RANCH

OUR MISSION: REDEEM THE HORSE AND CHILD;
STRENGTHEN THE FAMILY; DISCOVER THE SPIRIT.

Reigning Grace Ranch is a place of tranquility and refuge on 15-acres in the beautiful Arizona desert. Home to some 40 rehabilitated and rescued horses, goats, chickens, donkeys, and a cow…named Norman…we support our mission of Redemption, Strength, and Discovery by striving to create a healing sanctuary in our community for those who need it most – Arizona at-risk youth, Arizona Foster kids, and at-risk families.

Reigning Grace Ranch is a unique non-profit ranch that believes in second chances. We believe that no horse or human should be given up on. Our ranch family believes everyone and every horse has the capacity to find their inner strength and has a gift to share, no matter their past. We help children and families believe that they are a “worthwhile somebody” by bringing horses, children, mentors, families, and volunteers together in an authentic working ranch environment. We offer equine-guided mentorship and equine-guided experiential learning to youth, families, and veterans. We strengthen the mind, body, and soul and elevate the spirit of our families through traditional core values. Our goal is to experience what it means to work hard or have “grit” for what they have, be a part of something bigger than they are, develop self-confidence, experience teamwork, accountability, love, safety, trust, encouragement, and hope without judgment. This is powerful stuff for a little horsin’ around!

Parent on Purpose with Amy Carney brings to the community nationally known author, syndicated columnist, and family psychologist John Rosemond on March 3, 2019. Rosemond is known for his sound advice and relaxed style and is one of America’s busiest and most popular public speakers.

Rosemond will be speaking on “Parenting with Love and Leadership” on Sunday, March 3 from 2-5:30 pm at Chaparral Christian Church, which is located at The Commons on Shea, 6451 East Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale.

“Parenting with Love and Leadership” is a humorous, yet thought-provoking seminar, where family psychologist Rosemond describes the contemporary parenting conundrum in clear, compelling terms and then describes a practical, tested solution using what children need adults to provide to them: Love and Leadership. Using compelling real-life anecdote, Rosemond teaches parents how to motivate maximum child compliance, no matter the setting, through the proper use of what he calls “leadership speech.” And when consequences are necessary, Rosemond teaches creative approaches that get the job done!

Rosemond has authored over 18 books on parenting, family life, and faith, including his recently released “Getting to Heaven.” He has been writing a nationally syndicated parenting column for over 35 years that appears in over 200 newspapers. Some of Rosemond’s books include: “Because I Said So!”, “A Family of Value,” and the “Six Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children.” Rosemond’s common-sensical advice has gained much credibility with today’s parents who are sick of techniques and methods that don’t work.

Tickets for Sunday’s event are $25/person; $40/couple and may be purchased online at bit.ly/johnrosemond. For more information, please contact Amy Carney at amy@amycarney.com.

The event is sponsored by the children’s ministry of Chaparral Christian Church.

Raising Arizona Kids and KidStop Toys & Books in Scottsdale are collaborating to promote the launch of my new book, Parent on Purpose, on January 12, 2019.

KidStop is hosting the author event from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its Scottsdale store: 6990 E. Shea Blvd., Suite 103, Scottsdale (in the Agua Caliente shopping center on the north side of Shea). The informal open-house event features brief talks at 11:30 and 1:30 during which Carney will describe why she wrote the book and discuss the importance of “claiming our family playgrounds” and investing in play throughout our lives.

Autographed copies of Parent on Purpose will be available for $14.95; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Arizona foster care organizations.

I began contributing to Raising Arizona Kids in the fall when I shared my personal essay about adopting our youngest son from foster care. The magazine’s annual “Schools, etc.” education guide includes my story about six Valley families that are close friends and share the same values — but made completely different school choice decisions.

KidStop Toys & Books is the only independent children’s toy store in the Valley, with a mission to make sure kids learn while they play. And as founder/owner Kate Tanner says, “We fiercely believe that families that play together, stay together; growing closer and closer over the years.”

Come to join us for the fun!!!
