What does it take to live a Great Life Story?

Isn’t that quite the question? Just what does it take to live a great life story?

I know it takes more than money, a beautiful house, comfortable lifestyle or high performing kids. None of that means a darned thing if you aren’t living for a greater purpose.

Today I’m in a western Chicago suburb at a beautiful mega church at the Storyline conference. Our first day was nearly 12 hours of non stop inspiration and guidance in engaging in our own life stories.

Author Donald Miller is headlining the three day event and is giving us all a lot of amazing insight and framework for living out our life stories. Tripp Crosby has brought us a lot of humor and laughter to break up all the emotional seriousness and learning. Photographer and Humanitarian Jeremy Cowart inspired me with his awesome video, walking us through his life as a kid who felt like a failure to the amazing life he lives today all because of his choices.

Have you heard of Justin and Patrick and their I’ll Push You story? Wow. Yes, tears of admiration at the unconditional love of their lifelong friendship and what transpired through that. Yes, I will be donating to help fund their documentary film. Go check it out!

I know that life is about doing hard things. Not sitting still and staring at our belly buttons, as Donald Miller likes to say. It’s about figuring out what brings us meaning.

I’ve got so many other people to tell you about and all that I’m taking in, but you know how it is when you’re at a conference. I’m a little bit on heart and brain overload. I can’t wait to tell you more when I get home. Enjoy your weekend!

I ask myself this all the time and I try to get my kids to ask that question. To think about life and choices and how they are living and what they are doing and how it impacts others. Glad you are able to attend this conference. Have heard great things. One of these days, I will make it myself.
